 Mr. Sadanand Kuddu Shetty – Presidents of Bunts’ Sangha, Pune hails from KALAI GUTTU HOUSE – Padebettu, Padubidri. At the age of 13, he migrated to Mumbai in search of a “bright future”.
He started his business at the age of 19 with BEST Canteen at Dadar and then Hotel Sadanand at Goregaon (East). He joined Congress and worked as a Joint Secretary for the Block Congress and associated with Goregaon Karnataka Sangha. He was founder member of “The Suburban Hotel Owners’ Association” and worked as Honorary Secretary. Later on he started Sadanand Coffee House at Worli. During emergency he joined the Janata Party and worked against the ruling Congress Party. He started Hotel Purab at Deccan Gymkhana, Pune and made Pune-his permanent name. Then onwards, there had been no looking back for this honest, hard working, conscientious business man. Consequently, he started Hotel Sindhu Palace in Udupi (D.K.) Hotel Sealord at Worli, Sadanand Resorts and Sadanand Residency at Pune. He is also a founder member of the Marathi Kannada Sneha Vardhini. Very shortly he will be starting a 4 star Hotel “Sadanand Regency” near Asian Village at Balewadi, Pune.
He is happily married to Mrs. Indira Shetty from Yelluru Guthu House, Paniyoor (D.K.). They are blessed with 4 children. Dr(Mrs.) Jyoti Shetty, Dr.(Mrs.) Kripa Shetty, Mr. Vishwapal Shetty and Mr. Vikramraj Shetty. They are proud grandparents with six grand children.
Mr. Sadanand Shetty is a very ambitious and determined man and has lots of dream for the Pune Bunts’ Sangha. By the grace of god-blessings of his elders and support from his colleagues he is ready to face the future with optimism, vision and a clear mission.

My wife and myself have a great pleasure to communicate with you
through the columns of the yearly “Souvenir” which is one of the main
tools for fundraising and glimpses of Bunts Activity. WE take this
opportunity to wish all the bunts brothers and sisters, a happy and
prosperous new year. May God shower on us his blessing to work for
the betterment of our community. We also thank all the managing
committee members for their wholehearted co-operation in
discharging our responsibilities. I agree that the year 2007 passed
without much incidents except for our routine programs like General
Body meeting, Sport, Dandiya, Haldi Kumkum from Ladies Wing and
Picnic. But the participation of more and more Bunts for the programs is very
encouraging and motivating factors for us. Last year annual gathering was a
great success thanks to the efforts from ladies wing members and our ever
enthusiastic committee members. Through the souvenir we could collect
Rs. 4.15 lakhs. I thank all the donors and advertisers for helping Bunts Sangha
every year.
Now we have to look ahead plan our strategies and construct a “Vasstu” at our
Land which will be an asset to our community in the near future. We have to
plan our strategies so that the “Vasstu” will build our image in the eyes of our
community.
Simultaneously, we have to increase our membership. This year we have started
enrolling more and more new members giving importance to new blood to be
inducted in our Sangha. Towards this direction, I declare that I will be awarding
two Gold Medals for those who enroll highest and second highest Life members
to the fold of Bunts Sangha. The qualifying slab for eligibility for awards is 50
st life members from each member in a calendar year beginning from 1 Jan 2008
st to 31 December 2008. We will be also introducing membership identity cards
with serial numbers. Let us work together for all-round growth of Bunts Sangha
Pune.
I take this opportunity to thank Mr Dayashankar Shetty, Our Chief Guest and
Shri Santoor Bhaskar Shetty for accepting our invitation to be with us during our
annual gathering function.
I also congratulate Shri Santoor Bhaskar Shetty for receiving “G. M. Shetty
Best Social Worker of the year” award.
