LADIES WING REPORT
Our successful fourteen years since the official inception of the Ladies Wing gives us immense pleasure and also another feather in our cap. We have been working closely with the Bunts' Sangha committee complementing all their activities. Our success is mainly measured by the strength of unity amongst us and the meetings of our ladies held every month without fail over ages.
It gives me great pride to brief the activities conducted during this tenure from October 2007 October 2008.
Our ladies contributed to the A.G.M held on Oct 28 by getting special cooked food items like Manglorean fish curry and dosas for lunch. Come October, it is a feast of Navaratri and Dandiya! As celebrated by our Ladies Wing every year, 'Dandiya Raas' this year was held at Sadanand Resorts. Though it was a success, we expected more participation and enthusiasm.
Our ladies like to distress themselves by having a picnic, a getaway from their usual routine. So this year in November we all went to Mahabaleshwar and enjoyed the courtesy of Mapro in Panchgani with their elaborate breakfast. Our thanks to Mrs. Prabha Hegde who initiated this. We enjoyed a day in Mahabaleshwar and returned rejuvenated. We have to thank Mrs. Prafulla Shetty for the conveyance. We had a ladies' get-together lunch at Gandharva Residency.
Makarsankranti marks an auspicious beginning for all the activities of the year! The response was over-whelming this year. We had an in-house 'bhajjan' session. Ladies greeted each other with haldi-kumkum and got blessings from their elders. After a high tea, mementoes were distributed. After the hectic practice for the Annual Gathering on 26 th January, the rehearsal is a treat for all the participants, the Bunts' Sangha committee and the Ladies Wing. Our ladies have been doing charity without any publicity. If all goes well we, the ladies, have planned a foreign tour to Malaysia and Singapore in November-December.
Charity begins at home. So let us all contribute to the Bunts' Sangha Building Association liberally!
Thanking you,
Mrs. Rajeshwari S. Shetty
Hon. Secretary, ladies Wing
